Fly Fishing
| Fly fishing Florida's Gulf Coast offers some of the most exciting yet relaxing days on the water. Fly Fishing is one of the reasons that our mission statement is "Hooking you on one of life's pure pleasures". The time spent on the water fly fishing is probably the most peaceful yet challenging ways of pursuing fish using artificial lures. Catches range from tarpon, snook, redfish, trout, cobia, mackerel and jacks. If you're looking for some true solitude on the waters of the gulf coast, this is the charter for you. One of our most memorable moments this year was guiding a client to catching a 170 lb. Tarpon on a 12 weight fly rod during the spring in Tampa Bay. |

Inshore Fishing | Redfish, Trout, Snook, Tarpon, Permit and Cobia. Fishing the inshore waters of Florida's Gulf Coast can offer some of the biggest variety of species to catch. Redfish in February, March, April and again in October as well as November. The best times for trout are December, Janaury, February and March. Tarpon fishing is done in late April thru June, and the beginning of July. Snook can be fished most of the year with the exception of November, December and January. Permit fishing is offered in May and June. |

Redfish
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) | They come into the waters of South Tampa Bay and St. Petersburg at the beginning of February. They come in giant schools with the spring tides. We target these fish with both live bait and artificial lures. Chumming these fish into submission, you can also catch Redfish by "baiting and switching". This is a great way to spend time with children and family as we primarily fish the lush grass flats of the Tampa Bay region. Some noteables on Redfishing are the fact that they give a heck of a fight, making for some awesome excitement, as well as the thrill of the hunt by sight casting. |

Trout| Ever think you could say that you caught 130 fish in a day? Try trout fishing! The shear numbers of trout that come into the winter waters of St. Joseph Sound can offer up a catch between 25-130 fish in a day! In the winter months, before trout spawn, they come together in this area of Pinellas County's cold waters. Grass flates, rock piles and islands are stacked full of trout ranging from 18-32" offering up non-stop action. Bring yourself or your whole family. Trout fishing can be enjoyed by all, from beginners to expert anglers. Even a 3 or 4 year old can take part in the action.
|
Snook | Hard runs, big pulls, and top water busting action are what continue to keep anglers chasing after this elusive fish. Found in the United States only in Florida, snook can make for one of the most exciting and challenging days on the water. Springtime snook fishing can begin as early as February 15th. Using a mixture of live bait, fly and artificial lures, snook can be pursued in all the waters of Tampa Bay from Tarpon Springs to St. Petersburg. In the summer time, snook will spawn on the beaches of the Gulf Coast bringing big snook schools to the shores. Now's the time to catch monster snook ranging from 20-25 lbs! For those of you looking to try something different, check out summer time night fishing. Night fishing in the late summer can provide a much ore peaceful trip on the water, cooler temperatures and amazing beach fishing by moonlight. Night fishing is offered in July, August, and September. |

Tarpon
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation (FWC) | Peak season for tarpon fishing is late April, May, and June. Primarily, all tarpon fishing is done out of Boca Grande Pass and its surrounding areas. The "Mack Truck" of fighting fish, the tarpon packs a punch like no other! Ranging from 50-200 lbs., nothing beats the pure excitement of reeling in the "Silverking". Want to catch tarpon in the action of worl renowned Boca Grande Pass? We can do it. Want a more relaxing day of fishing the beaches of Southwest Florida? We can do it. Want to catch a giant tarpon on fly? We can do that too! What's all the excitement about? Try jumping a tarpon 10-15 feet above the water, or bending your rod until you just can't hold on. Tarpon fishing is one of the most sought after game fish on the water. The "Silverking", a pre-historic fish will actually "roll" on the surface of the water giving quite the show and making the hunt for tarpon even more exciting. Using jigs in the pass or live bait on the beaches, chasing down this fish can give you a day on the water like no other. Tarpon are sometimes stacked so thick on the bottom of the pass that our sonar will black out! Now that's excitement! |
|
Did we mention "catching crabs"? Anyone who ever fished for Tarpon in Boca Grande Pass knows about the "Hill Tide". During the new moon and full moon tides, millions of "pass crabs" will float to the surface of Boca Grande Pass. These crabs will flow out with the outgoing tides triggering a tarpon feed like no other. Thousands of tarpon will rise to the surface to feed on these "pass crabs", which puts you right in the middle of the action! As you can see, tarpon fishing is something you don't want to miss out on. We encourage anyone interested in booking a tarpon fishing charter to book now. The season is only about 10 weeks long and dates are taken early. Permit
Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission
| Fishing for permit in the months of May and June can be tagged on to a tarpon charter. A usually untargeted fish, permit charters can be quite exciting. Caught primarily offshore of Boca Grande Pass on wrecks and reefs. Permit can give an amazing fight. These fish can range anywhere from 5-45 lbs. How's that for burning out some light tackle? |
|
Cobia| There are two runs of cobia, they come in November and December and again in the spring time. In the winter time they gather around hot water out flows of the power plants. In the spring time they come into the beaches and bays following our coastline. Sight fishing with both artificials and pinfish, cobia fishing can be enjoyed by all. For those fly fisherman, cobia are an easy and fun target. |
